I am the Associate Director of Learning Design in the <a href=\"http:\/\/ctet.royalroads.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Centre for Teaching and Educational Technologies at Royal Roads University<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My Master\u2019s research examined strategies and successes in implementing&nbsp;<a class=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/KJ_socmedia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social media in constructivist teaching<\/a>&nbsp;practices. As is often said, today\u2019s technology can support effective learning, but should never be confused for the pedagogy itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have an extensive and varied background of over 25 years in visual communications, design and the graphic arts. I have a diverse set of skills, and enjoy strengths in typography, page layout, and production art. From the start of my career hand-setting letterpress type, to teaching Graphic Arts &amp; Design at BCIT and Emily Carr University, I have enjoyed the privilege of designing, working with, (and teaching) some amazing, talented individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Talking about Learning is my website &amp; blog that recounts a bit about me and my educational journey.
